Rent Point Cyprus Car Rental Terms of Service

Welcome to Rent Point Cyprus. Please carefully review the Terms of Service below before renting a car. By proceeding with the rental, you agree to comply with these terms, which establish a legally enforceable agreement between you and Rent Point Cyprus.

Rental Agreement & Driving Rules

Before:

- Vehicle Inspection: The driver/hirer and a representative of Rent Point Cyprus will inspect the vehicle for any damages, scratches, defects, and check the fuel level before the rental agreement is signed.

- Acceptance of Terms: By signing the vehicle rental agreement, the driver/hirer agrees to and accepts all terms and conditions outlined herein.

Cancelling:

- Before Vehicle Collection: The driver/hirer may cancel the rental agreement and request a full refund before signing the contract and collecting the vehicle.

- After Vehicle Collection: If the rental agreement is already signed and the vehicle is collected, early termination requests by the hirer will be charged as a new contract based on the actual days used, potentially at a higher daily rate. Rent Point Cyprus may provide a voucher for the unused days without an expiration date.

During:

- Unauthorised Use: Driving off-road or in prohibited areas such as the Akamas region is not allowed. Excess charges apply, and all damages must be paid by the hirer.

- Vehicle Handling: The vehicle must be driven with care. Negligent driving will result in the cancellation of all insurances and the hirer being liable for all damages.

- Vehicle Recovery: If the vehicle is not returned on the agreed date and time, Rent Point Cyprus reserves the right to reclaim the vehicle by any means necessary or declare it stolen, cancel all insurances, and report it to the police.

Additional Provisions:

- Additional Drivers: Additional drivers are only permitted to drive the hired vehicle if they are included in the rental agreement and have received written consent from Rent Point Cyprus.

- Restrictions on Drivers: No person with physical, mental, vision, or hearing impairments is permitted to drive the vehicle.

- Driving Restrictions: The vehicle must not be used for towing, racing, speed testing, or for any commercial purpose. Driving under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited.

Financial Conditions:

- Security Deposit: The security deposit amount varies based on the vehicle type, insurance selected, driver's age, and driving experience. This deposit is refundable post-rental, subject to conditions of the rental agreement.

- Mileage and Fuel: The rental includes unlimited kilometres. The vehicle must be returned with a full fuel tank. Charges apply for missing fuel.

- Insurance: Standard Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is included with an excess amount varying by vehicle group. Additional insurance options, such as Super CDW and Tyres and Windscreen coverage, are available for an extra charge.

Pickup and Return:

- Locations: Vehicles can be picked up or returned to designated Rent Point Cyprus locations, including airports and offices in major cities.

- Cleaning: Vehicles must be returned clean. If a vehicle is too dirty to inspect, a cleaning fee will be assessed.

Additional Services and Equipment:

- Extra Equipment: Requests for additional equipment such as bike racks or baby car seats must be made at the time of booking or can be arranged during the rental period for an additional fee.

- Breakdowns and Accidents: In the event of a breakdown or accident, Rent Point Cyprus provides 24/7 support. The hirer must contact Rent Point Cyprus immediately and follow instructions, including contacting the police if necessary.

General Policies:

- Police and Traffic Laws: The driver/hirer must comply with all local traffic laws and regulations. All fines and penalties incurred during the rental period are the responsibility of the hirer.

- Lost Items: Rent Point Cyprus is not responsible for personal items lost during the rental period. Found items will be held for one year and can be returned upon request, potentially at the hirer's expense.

By renting a vehicle from Rent Point Cyprus, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. These conditions are designed to ensure the safety and satisfaction of both parties during the rental period.
